number on each bottle. The variety of testing methods measure potency by
substantiating the presence of active ingredients. In addition, Nu Herbs
performs independent tests for heavy metals (lead, mercury, and arsenic) while
routinely screening for microbacteria (E. coli, salmonella, and various other
possible bio-contaminants such as molds and yeasts) on all its products. Tests
are further performed for regulatory compliance regarding possible known
dangers such as aristolochic acid and ephedrine alkaloids.
Furthermore, the Import-Export Bureau of China randomly tests NuHerbs’ Herbal
Times® remedies for heavy metals and microbacteria.
